The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced the dates for the men’s and women’s Ashes next summer on Wednesday, September 21. On June 16, the first Test of the men’s Ashes is scheduled to take place at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
The first match of the women’s Ashes will take place at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on June 22. The remaining four men’s Ashes Test matches will take place at Lord’s, Headingley, Old Trafford, and Kennington Oval, respectively. The women’s Ashes are comprised of three ODIs and three T20Is.
“We are delighted to host two Ashes series in 2023,” Clare Connor, the interim chief executive officer, stated. “We are also looking forward to hosting the Ireland men’s, New Zealand men’s, and Sri Lanka women’s matches.”
“Next summer will be huge for England’s women and men.” There are few events more special in English sport than a home Ashes series, and I know that Heather, Ben, and their teams will be excited and driven by the challenge of regaining the Ashes,” he added.
“I am particularly delighted that we have announced our England men’s and England women’s fixtures side by side for the first time, meaning that supporters can enter the ballot or register interest for any fixture on the same day. June and July will be very special months for cricket in this country with the buzz of two Ashes series taking place simultaneously, “Connor said.”
